เอเวนเจด เซเวนโฟลด์ (Avenged Sevenfold หรือ A7X ) เป็นวงเฮฟวีเมทัล จากอเมริกา ได้รับรางวัล ศิลปินหน้าใหม่ยอดเยี่ยมจากเพลง Bat Country จากงาน เอ็มทีวี วิดีโอ มิวสิก อวอร์ดส 2006 เริ่มก่อนตั้งวงในปี 1999 โดยอัลบั้มที่ประสบความสำเร็จคืออัลบั้ม City of Evil ในปี 2005

เอเวนเจด เซเวนโฟลด์ได้ก่อตั้งวงขึ้นเมื่อปี 1999 โดยมีอัลบั้มแรกชื่อว่า Sounding the Seventh Trumpet โดยอัลบั้มนี้ได้เกิดขึ้นตั้งแต่ที่สมาชิกทั้งหมดของวงนั้นยังอายุเพียง 18 ปีเท่านั้น ได้ออกวางขายกับสังกัด Good Life Recordings หลังจากนั้น Synyster Gates ได้เข้ามาร่วมกับทางวงและทำการอัดเสียงเพลง To End The Rapture ใหม่โดยมี Gates เล่นในเพลงนี้ด้วยและได้วางขายโดย Hopeless Records จากนั้นอัลบั้มต่อมามีชื่อว่า Waking the Fallen ซึ่งยังอยู่กับ Hopeless Records เช่นเดิม อัลบั้มนี้มาแรงจนได้รับคำชมเป็นอย่างมากจากนิตยสารโรลลิงสโตน หลังจากนั้นไม่นานเอเวนเจด เซเวนโฟลด์ ก็ได้เซ็นสัญญากับ Warner Bros. Records.ค่ายที่อยู่ตั้งแต่อัลบั้มแรกจนถึงปัจจุบัน

Warner Bros. Records (2004-ปัจจุบัน) City of Evil อัลบั้มที่ 3 ที่กำหนดออกวางจำหน่ายตั้งแต่วันที่ 7 June 2005 ซึ่งเป็นการเปลี่ยนแนวเพลงจากเดิมที่เป็นแบบ Metal Core. M.Shadows เลือกที่จะไม่ร้องแบบ Scream (ตะโกนร้อง,คำรามเสียงแหบๆ)
เหมือนกับ 2 อัลบั้มแรกที่เคยทำ นั่นก็คืออัลบั้ม Sounding the seventh trumpet และ Waking the fallen นั่นเอง. เพราะ Shadows มีปัญหาเส้นเลือดแตกในลำคอและต่อมาต้องเข้ารับการผ่าตัดช่วยเหลือให้ดีขึ้น เค้าจึงบอกว่าจุดนี้ที่ทำให้เค้าต้องเปลี่ยนสไตล์การร้องของเค้าเอง.

ใน DVD All Excess โปรดิวเซอร์ของวงในอัลบั้มที่ 2 และ 3 “Mudrock” ได้บอกไว้ว่าตั้งแต่ก่อนที่จะมีการทำอัลบั้ม Waking the fallen นั้น M.Shadows ได้พูดคุยกับเขาไว้แล้วว่าต้องการที่จะให้อัลบั้มนี้ใช้การอัดเสียงแบบ Scream ครึ่งนึง ร้องปกติครึ่งนึง และอัลบั้มต่อไปจะไม่ใช้เสียงร้องแบบ Scream (City of Evil) แต่ว่าภายหลัง Shadows ก็ฝึกร้อง Scream ได้ดีขึ้น หลังจากก่อนหน้านี้ที่เค้าต้องเข้ารับการผ่าตัด และยังได้รู้มาช่วยฝึกด้านการใช้เสียงให้ด้วย นั่นคือ “Ron Anderson” ผู้ซึ่งเคยทำงานร่วมกับศิลปินมากมาย อย่างเช่น
กลุ่ม Various Artists จาก Axl Rose / Kylie Minogue / Chris Cornell / My Chemical Romance.

ผลงานล่าสุด (2007)ในปี 2006 Avenged Sevenfold ได้ออกทัวร์ที่อเมริกา, อังกฤษ, ยุโรป, ญี่ปุ่น, ออสเตรเลีย และนิวซีแลนด์
หลังจากที่ก่อนหน้านั้นได้มีการยกเลิกทัวร์ในช่วง Fall และ Winter 2006.
ทางวงได้ออกมาประกาศว่า กำลังจะมีอัลบั้มใหม่ออกมาเป็นอัลบั้มที่ 4 ตามการที่ตั้งไว้จะมีกำหนดออกจำหน่ายในวันที่ 30 ตุลาคม 2007 ในอเมริกา
(ปัจจุบันนี้ได้ออกจำหน่ายเรียบร้อยแล้ว)

Shadows ได้บอกไว้ว่า “อัลบั้มนี้จะไม่ใช่ภาคต่อของทั้ง 2 อัลบั้ม (Waking the fallen, City of evil)
แต่จะมีสิ่งที่น่าสนใจมาเซอร์ไพซ์ให้แฟนๆ (ก็ MVI น่านแหระนะ อิ๊ๆ)
ตอนนี้ยังอยู่ในขั้นตอนการทำเพลงในห้องอัดเสียง จะเสร็จสิ้นออกมาก็ประมาณเดือนสิงหาคมปี 2007 และจะมีการเริ่มออกทัวร์คอนเสริต์ในปี 2007
จะมีการทัวร์ในแถบเอเชียด้วย คือประเทศอินโดนีเซีย, สิงค์โปร์, ญี่ปุ่น,ไทย (ด้วย) 555+

ในวันที่ 9 สิงหาคม 2007 รายชื่อเพลงจากอัลบั้มใหม่จะถูกลงบอกไว้ในเว็บ Myspace ของทางวง
และในวันที่ 17 สิงหาคม 2007 ก็จะมีการปล่อย Single แรกออกมาเปิดตัว ชื่อว่าเพลง “Critical Acclaim”
ตามที่มีการแจ้งไว้บอกว่าเพลงนี้จะสามารถเข้าไปฟังได้ที่เว็บ iTunes.
ในวันที่ 28 สิงหาคม 2007 เพลงจะถูกนำลงในเว็บ Myspace แบบเต็มๆ.
ส่วน Music Video ตัวแรกจากอัลบั้มล่าสุดนี้ก็คือเพลง “Almost Easy”
ซึ่งจะเปิดฉายในรายการ Kerrang TV Playlist ที่ประเทศอังกฤษ ในวันที่ 27 กันยายน 2007.

ล่าสุดได้มีการทำ CD “String Tribute Band” ออกมาวางจำหน่าย
ซึ่งเป็นเพลงจากอัลบั้ม City of Evil ของวง Avenged Sevenfold
สามารถหาฟังและดาวน์โหลดได้แล้วที่เว็บ iTune หรือสั่งซื้อได้ทางเว็บซื้อขายชั้นนำ
